What You Might Not Know About TikTok

(transcription of video below)

Let's talk about TikTok. You already know about TikTok because it is a social media app used maybe by your child or teenager and used around the world. But today we're going to talk about some things that I've recently learned about TikTok that you may not know. Let's go back a little bit. TikTok is owned by Byte Dance which is a Chinese company. You're like yeah, we get that. No doubt it's much more expansive than you think, than I thought. It has 1 billion monthly active users and the majority of those users come from the United States of America. 67% of teens in America use TikTok and 30% of parents say that their children ages 9 through 11 use TikTok.

We know we've heard about the security concerns. We understand that TikTok gets our data. They get facial recognition. And, they capture voice recognition. They know your keystrokes. They know your data. They know your location. You know it seems like we don't have an issue with this privacy. But obviously that is an issue. India is the most populous nation now overtaking China in the world and they have banned TikTok so these are kind of the things we know about, and maybe you don't know this and I'm glad you're listening. We should be a bit concerned about this. How is the Chinese government going to use this app that is so pervasive in the world to get so much data on our children, so much data on us. But my friends it gets a little bit worse.

So there are two other things I want to tell you.  One is TikTok very much influences on purpose and boosts up the people they want your kids to follow. It's not organic. They are boosting up who they want your kids following. Let me give you a case in point. There's a man named Roger Wu and he's a businessman, a nice businessman who has perfect English who lives in China and he talks about what life in China is like and if you go to his Youtube channel he has 795 subscribers. How many subscribers does he have on Tiktok? He has over half a million followers, 572000 followers. His videos get 1 million views and guess what he's talking about? He's saying China is not that bad. It's a great place to live. Here's my house, isn't it nice, and all the comments below are like “why do people think China's so awful. It's a great place.” Are you seeing this…so we are having a lot of pro-communist sentiment coming our way through TikTok having influencers blown up. Put in front of our kids over and over, it’s very popular to say, hey China is a great place. Now obviously look at me I am not anti-Chinese.  I am Chinese. I'm an American born Chinese. We are talking about the Chinese Communist Party. So let's let's just be clear on that.

The second thing I want to alert you is that Tiktok is really choosing what your children are seeing. There's an agenda there. Did you know that the TikTok in China that they show to their Chinese children and youth is amazingly vastly night and day different than the TikTok our kids in the West? It’s completely different. Their TikTok is called doyen and it's very educational. They show people solving rubik's cubes, like it's really fun. It's very wholesome. They're solving rubik's cubes. They're learning how to draw, like it's super wholesome so they are showing their children and their teens that content and they limit it in the country to 40 minutes per day. That's all a child could get. I would consider it a digital vegetable, while they show American children on purpose…they boost trans influencers and you wonder what is happening. And they boost mental health issues and eating disorders, drug use, pornography. Do you see? What is happening my friends? You must put the pause on Tiktok. You've got to research this, do your due diligence and know what your child is entering into and know that there are bad forces at work. Stay in touch with me so that we can together learn and not just learn. Do something about it.
